Use of Modern Technology Ordered to Curb Tax Evasion
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that tax evaders and their auxiliary officers and personnel will be strictly held accountable and modern technology will be used effectively to prevent tax evasion. He said that the economy is on the path to restoration, all have to take on their responsibility.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, a meeting of the FBR chaired by the Prime Minister was held, which considered raising the tax net and increasing taxes. The Prime Minister directed that digital monitoring should be completed by June in other important sectors including cement.
Shahbaz Sharif further added that those who are capable of paying tax but do not pay, should be included in the system. He mentioned that the government is trying to reduce the tax rate and reduce the burden on the common man and expand the tax net.
In another meeting, the Prime Minister directed to expedite work on the project of Danish schools and Danish University under construction. The meeting reviewed the progress of the construction of 15 new intellectual schools in different parts of the country.
Later, the Prime Minister expressed his heartfelt happiness over Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoan’s solidarity with Pakistan in a social media post. He said that the long -standing brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkey are getting stronger over time.
