CM Punjab Ration Card — Rs 3,000 Monthly Rashan Guide and PSER Registration Explained

Listen to this article:

On the subject of rashan, the lies travel faster than the truth — because a hungry family is the easiest family to fool. Right now, five claims about ration support are moving from phone to phone across Punjab. Some are true. Some are recycled corpses of dead programs. One or two are pure theft dressed as help. Let us hold each claim up to the light, one by one, and mark it honestly: myth, or fact.

Claim 1: “Ehsaas Rashan registration 2026 is open — send your CNIC to 8123”

MYTH. And it is the oldest of the five. The federal Ehsaas Rashan Riayat program — the one with the 8123 code that gave subsidy on flour, sugar and ghee — was ended by the government on July 1, 2022, as reported by The News and Geo News at that time. It has never been restarted. There is no federal rashan registration open in 2026, and the 8123 code is inactive. The websites and videos still shouting “8123 Rashan registration 2026” are recycling a dead program to steal your clicks, and some of them will end by asking you for a fee — which is the real point of the whole drama. Our website has an older article on the Ehsaas Program if you want the background of that era. But as a registration route in 2026? It does not exist.

Claim 2: “Punjab gives Rs 3,000 every month on a ration card”

FACT. This one is real, and its correct name is the CM Punjab Ration Card. According to the Punjab Social Protection Authority’s program details, an eligible family receives Rs 3,000 per month on a digital smart card, used for the essential groceries every kitchen runs on — atta, ghee, sugar, daal. I will not exaggerate it for you: Rs 3,000 does not finish a family’s whole month of rashan in today’s prices. But it is not a one-time package either. It is a support that arrives every single month, on your own card, spent on items of your own choice. In a hard budget, that standing help is real.

Claim 3: “A shop or agent can make my ration card — he charges Rs 1,000”

MYTH, and an expensive one. No person makes this card. Families are selected from a registry — Punjab’s own household record called the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry, PSER for short. Think of it as Punjab’s version of the federal NSER survey that BISP uses, which I have explained in my BISP Dynamic Survey Registration guide. Eligibility is checked through PSER registration, CNIC verification and income and PMT-type thresholds. In plain words: if your household is not correctly recorded in PSER, the system cannot see you at all, whatever your real condition is. So the only correct effort for a deserving family is to make sure its PSER record exists and is correct — that one registration is your entry ticket to this card and to Punjab’s coming relief programs. The man charging Rs 1,000 is selling you a piece of plastic and a lie. And note: the ration card and federal support are separate systems — a family can be in both records, and my Benazir Kafalat Payment guide explains the federal side.

Claim 4: “Another Rs 10,000 is coming on the Nigehban Card — register now”

HALF A TRUTH, WORKING AS A TRAP. There was a real payment, and it is finished. In Ramzan 2026, the Punjab government paid a one-time Nigehban Ramzan Package of Rs 10,000 per family on Bank of Punjab Nigehban cards; according to the Punjab Budget Speech of June 2026, it reached about 3.4 million families and around Rs 39 billion was spent. Families on the CM Punjab Ration Card received Rs 10,000 in Ramzan instead of their usual Rs 3,000. But as checked against the Punjab government’s announcements, no Nigehban payment is currently running and no second phase has been announced — so any message saying “your next Rs 10,000 has arrived, send your details” is fraud, word for word.

The true part is this: keep your Nigehban card safe. The Chief Minister herself advised families on February 17, 2026 to keep their Nigehban cards because future relief will come through the same card, and the Punjab Budget 2026-27 has proposed Rs 37 billion for the Ramzan package, which would fund the Ramzan 2027 package. A card kept in your drawer can become money next Ramzan. A card thrown away becomes a problem.

Claim 5: “A new Rs 13,000 Nigehban Card registration has been announced”

MYTH, completely. The Punjab government has announced no such thing. This number was invented somewhere between a fake poster and a forwarded voice note, and it survives because it sounds like help. It is not help. It is bait.

The questions that remain

Q. So how do I get the ration card, if there is no application?
By being correctly registered in PSER. There is no separate counter for this card; eligible families are selected from the PSER record.

Q. I have a Nigehban card but no monthly Rs 3,000 comes on it. Why?
Because the two are connected to the same relief system but are not the same benefit. The Nigehban card carried the Ramzan package; the monthly Rs 3,000 is for families selected under the ration card criteria from PSER. Keep the card safe for future Punjab relief either way.

Q. I am not from Punjab. Is there a ration card for me?
This card is a Punjab program. For federal support, your door is BISP — check your eligibility by sending your CNIC to 8171, as explained in my other guides.

So the truth about rashan this year fits in one line: Punjab’s door is PSER, the federal door is BISP — and every third door someone shows you is a fraud. Keep your PSER record correct, keep your Nigehban card safe, and don’t give a single rupee to anyone in the name of rashan registration. When real news comes on this card, it will come from the Punjab government — and I will put it on this page the same week.
