Food crisis: Gaza has reached the dangerous levels of famine and devastating hunger

The oppressed and besieged people of Gaza are presently facing the worst food crisis that has reached the dangerous levels of famine and devastating hunger. This eye-opening revelation was made by the World Food Programme in its annual report, explaining that the situation in Gaza has reached the worst point of famine and terrible starvation. This network was established in 2019, and it includes the European Union, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, UNICEF, the United States, the World Food Program, and the World Bank.

Approximately 295.3 million individuals in 53 countries or regions experienced extreme food insecurity in 2024, which is an increase of 13.7 million from 2023. The research claims that armed conflict is the main reason for the global food crisis, which has worsened over the past six years. On the other hand, the survey also noted that in 15 countries—including Afghanistan, Ukraine, and Kenya—the food situation has somewhat improved.
