National Electric Vehicle policy expected to be approved next week

The Ministry of Industries after a consultation with stakeholders submitted a thorough report to the PM regarding EV policy. This policy plans to introduce at least 30 % electric vehicles in Pakistan by the year 2030.
With a total subsidy allocation of Rs4 billion, the NEV policy includes a Rs50,000 subsidy for electric motorcycles and a Rs200,000 subsidy for three-wheelers (rickshaws). The policy also offers funding and assistance for the construction of EV infrastructure, including charging stations.
PMâs special assistaÂÂnt Haroon Akhtar Khan met a delegation from COMSATS on Thursday to further discuss the development of electric vehicles. Industries and Production Secretary Saif Anjum, COMSATS Executive Director NafeÂÂes Zakaria and EngiÂneÂering Development Board CEO Khuda Bakhsh Ali were present at the meeting
Mr Akhtar emphasized that the government is affirm to promote clean sustainable energy, this initiative beneficial not only for economic aid but also for environmental benefits.
