Ceasefire will remain unsustainable until Kashmir issue is resolved, says lieutenant General (retd) Muhammad

Former Chief of General Staff lieutenant General (retd) Muhammad Saeed stated that until the Kashmir issue is resolved, the ceasefire will remain unsustainable.

Having an interview with a foreign TV, Muhammad Saeed has stated that the ceasefire was a courageous decision. this decision was not easy to take. The political leadership of both sides embraced the ceasefire under international pressure, no doubt, and this was a short but widespread military conflict. He continued by saying that although there have been numerous ceasefires over the past 78 years, peace will never be possible since the Kashmir issue has not been resolved. In 1948, the UN recognized Kashmir as an international conflict.

He added that India had bombed innocent women and children and had destroyed mosques and civilian homes despite making a fake claim that it had targeted a terrorist camp.

Former Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General (retd) Muhammad Saeed also said that Pakistan condemned the Pahalgam incident and asked for cooperation in the form of evidence; India has not yet given evidence to Pakistan or any international organization. India also made excuses for the Pathankot, Uri, Mumbai attacks and did not conduct transparent investigations.
